A very fine and emotive Second World War Bomber Command and Path Finder Force Wireless Operator / Air Gunner’s 76 Operational Sortie Distinguished Flying Medal group awarded to Warrant Officer P.JK. Lynes, Royal Air Force, who completed a tour of operations with 57 Squadron in Wellington’s from June 1941 to March 1942, a second tour of duty with 50 Squadron in Lancaster’s from June 1942 to March 1943, and was killed on 6th June 1944 during his third tour, when with 83 Squadron of Path Finder Force, his aircraft being shot down by a night fighter.
