R.S.M. Robert Grant Henderson was appointed Sergeant Major in 1916 of the 134th Battalion (48th Highlanders) CEF and arrived in the UK on board SS Scotian 19th August 1916. In august 1917 he returned to Canada and was release from C.E.F. service on compassionate grounds 16th January 1918. He is entitled to the War Medal only. He was later made R.S.M. of the 48th Highlanders.
